It All Started as a Dissertation Project

Diversify was born from the vision of our CEO, Shanine Fasasi, who transformed personal adversity into a movement that unites the Nottingham community.

Today, we run impactful projects like Dads & Lads and Faith Housing Services, and bring people together at our home, Beechdale Community Centre.

We frequently collaborate on impactful projects, including talks with Nottingham Business School, sessions with Dancop's Future Leaders programme at the University of Nottingham, Reimagining Policing with our Dads & Lads at the Hope Hack Conference in Coventry, and celebrating at Fernwood School’s Iftar gathering. Most recently, we have had the honour to participate in the Grandma's House Roadshow, founded by Monica Tucker and facilitated by the University of Nottingham. The list goes on, and we’re always excited to explore new opportunities and partnerships!

Beechdale Community Centre - we moved here in 2023

At the heart of the community, Beechdale Community Centre is more than just a space; it's a hub of connection, learning, and support. Home to our dedicated team, no two days here are ever the same. Open throughout the week, we welcome everyone, whether you're joining an activity, attending a Nottingham College class, enjoying a warm Wednesday dinner, or sharing a chat over coffee at The Teapot Café. There's always something happening, and there's always a place for you.

Our enthusiastic team includes Shanine, Freddie, Ben, Nikeria, Aisha, Rickheim, Jaden, and Shannon. We cannot wait to welcome you!

Dads & Lads - established in 2023

Leading the Dads & Lads group is Freddie, who brings energy, laughter, and a real connection to the young men and fathers. His ability to balance fun with guidance makes every session engaging, ensuring the boys feel heard, supported, and part of something special. Our goal is to significantly improve the mental health and well-being of fathers and boys in our community and beyond. We do this by fostering positive connections and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere that lessens the pressures and tensions that young adults and males face.

Friendly Friday football sessions occur every two weeks, followed by dinner. Throughout the year, various trips and activities are hosted, such as summer outings, bushcraft sessions, and a Christmas ceremony to conclude the year with dinner and awards.

StrongHer Football - established in 2024

We are excited to announce that StrongHer is now up and running for girls and women in Nottingham! StrongHer was established after our team noticed a growing number of girls joining the Dads & Lads Football sessions. In response, we created a similar program specifically for them.StrongHer focuses on empowering, uplifting, and connecting participants while also providing mental health and wellbeing support. Led by Nikeria, the group meets biweekly on Fridays from 5 PM to 7 PM at Bilborough Sports Centre, alongside the Dads & Lads sessions. Afterwards, everyone is welcome to join us for a group dinner at Beechdale Community Centre.

Faith Housing Project

Faith Housing was set up in 2024 as a Christian-founded housing solution to the homelessness crisis in Nottingham. This home welcomes men aged 18 and older who need support and a comfortable place to call home.

To take a peek through the doors of our home, visit the Faith Housing Project Notts page on Instagram.

If you are moved to share a devotional with the Faith family or wish to donate, do not hesitate to get in touch.

I didn't get the mark that I wanted..this was me proving my point. I went through all 15 pages of my dissertation and created Diversify Education, and everything I wrote about, I deliver in project work.

I think what really helped me was the love and the kindness and the welcoming of the whole community embracing me with everything they could and just accepting me for who I am.
